Abstract Submission

Instructions

Please submit an abstract of 350 words or less. The submissions should specify the goals and objectives from one of the below conversation topics and indicate if the targeted area will impact the micro, mezzo, and macro level. The submissions should include an action plan that identifies recommendations that can be implemented and completed by Social Work Voices on the Vineyard 2020.

 

Conversation Topics:

 

  • Child Welfare (We must improve the lives of all children and revamp the delivery of child welfare services especially for those in foster care).
     

  • Achieving Social, Racial, Economic, Environmental, and Political Justice (We must detail the solutions and steps in health care, housing, food insecurity, and access to financial services that keep vulnerable populations in poverty by alleviating disparities).
     

  • Being Brown and Black in White Space, The Impact of Race (We must address and advance equitable opportunities and remove all barriers and challenges that result in the continued mistreatment by carceral systems on marginalized people and communities)
     

  • Social Work Professional Connections and Actions (We must connect and strengthen the Social Work Educator/Academician and Social Work Practitioner praxis).
     

Proposal Type:

 

  • Poster Board

  • Intellectual Conversation

  • Other forms of proposals: i.e., poetry, photovoice, other creative and artistic formats (please specify in your email the format of your proposed presentation)

Send your abstract as an attachment (Microsoft Word or PDF only) to socialworkvoices@gmail.com. Please also include your professional title, organization affiliation(s) & type of proposal in the body of the correspondence.
